The Twilight posterz site is finally showing top in Scroogle Scraper (as I see it anyhow) for “Twilight poster“. Its been a while in coming but its nice to see it there!
Now this obviously does not mean that if you do a search for those keywords where you are that you will see my site in top spot. It happens so often that what one person sees in one country, another person will not see in another country. In part due to Google data center updates happening around the globe at different times (apparently there is a 36 hour difference), and in part due to… whatever – ask Google…
In Hide My Ass proxy I see “Twilight poster” in 3rd and 4th.
And in the new proxy I found just the other day when I was researching a way to find Google rankings specific to the United Kingdom, which is http://www.sheerseo.com/ I can see the Twilight posterz site for “Twilight poster” also ranking top spot.
“Twilight posters” appears in and around 4th and 5th spot for all three proxies.
“New Moon posters” is around 5th or 6th in all three proxies.
With “New Moon poster” back around 8th to 11th in all three.

Visitor count I have not even been assessing because all my affiliate links are messed up, hence no sales. Yes, yes, I know – I should have sorted out the links. I hired a programmer to work on them for me but he was not very familiar with the set up of affiliate links. Thus they still did not function correctly. And I do not want to spend hours trying to work out if its one single letter in the wrong place of the coding. Hence it will remain as is for now.
In fact, I may let the site drift away in a few weeks time. I do not wish to be spending time and money (even though its very little time and very little money) on keeping it ranking high when there are other ways that are more successful at making an income online. But with Christmas coming up in a few months, well, that’s a different proposition.
But for now, its good to see its doing so well in at least 2 from the 3 different proxies!
Please do leave me your thoughts, thank you!

Wow! Very impressive, Joseph, and congratulations. I’ve been following the WF thread since you first started it, and it’s great to see you finally get to the #1 spot!

Hi Michelle, thanks, and nice to have you over here!
Well I guess I could brag about it Michelle but there is always someone ‘better’ so I best keep at least a little bit hush hush and eat a bit of the proverbial humble pie, if you see what I mean
But its not so much about the “me” as it is about showing how this SEO stuff is possible to do, and do successfully. I know there were a ton of folks following along on the Warrior Forum challenge thread who were either new to SEO and struggling big time, or were simply struggling big time (some have been trying to gain success in SEO for years).
And not only with the techniques but with the whole mind-set of it. I hope that this will go to prove to them that its do-able, and you do not have to be some self-proclaimed gu-ru to achieve it either. I mean, even old Joe Smoe here (me) can do it (the guy who has little idea how to work with Twitter and Facebook), so surely that means that many other can do it too.
Anyways, I’ll be back to you on the Link Juicer topic Michelle, and will be watching out for your Tweets on Twit Twit too!
Take care and best wishes!
Joseph
That’s awesome Joseph, congrats!

Thanks Oscar! My head’s so large I can’t get ouside the front door
Just joking, of course!
This is great Joseph! Here in Brazil you are number 1 for “twilight poster” and number 4 for “twilight posters”.
You should consider flipping this site, if you are not interested in keeping it. On Flippa, sites with as little as $50/month revenue can go for $400 – $600.
Who knows, you may catch the attention of a couple of Twilight fans.

Thanks for the feedback on the rankings Selena!
Yup, I considered flipping it but then I would have to sort out the links. If I sort out the links then I’ll be very tempted to hold onto it, particularly for Christmas when the numero uno spot (plus whatever else I can muster from the other 3 keyword phrases) will surely bring in a decent income. And with Christmas (or the beginning of the Christmas sales) being less than 4 months from now… You see my dilemma Selena, I’m sure.
Not such a bad “problem” to have…
Cheers!
Joseph
Oh my gosh, Jo, if you ever need help with getting the affiliate links sorted out and things like that, let me know. You know it’s what I do for a living.
It kills me that you could be missing out on sales. Ugh!!!!!

yes I have been Tia, and not for want of trying to sort this out. But these things drive me mad so better I forgo the small commissions rather than bang my head on the floor in frustration.
Your kind offer is indeed accepted! I’ll send the contract to you in the post to you shortly!
Let’s talk some more pls Tia me dear!
Jo
Its not so hard Rob but for a total non-tech like myself its bound to be a quick way to the “loony bin” (mad house) when I even go there
I’m in good company however, I suspect John Chow is even “worse” than me when it comes to tech ability….
Number 5 is fine. Can’t have it all ways now, can we…? Thanks for your input Rob!
Regards
Jo
Hahah yeah I’d love to see one of my sites @ 5
maybe someday. I’ll second Tia’s offer. I’m a bit of a nerd and I’m sure I could sort out the link problem in no time. cheers!
Rob @ Portable Digital Recorders recently posted..The Best Zoom H4n Review
Aha, and I see… so you, Rob, and Tia are the nerds to go to. In which case I am sure you were pulling out your hair when I mentioned that my links have been down on that site for the previous 5 weeks or perhaps more.
That’s very kind of you Rob! What I should now consider doing is adding another tab at the top of the home page on the blog here – alongside the “Recommended Writers” where James currently holds the much – covetted and only spot. This tab should be entitled “Recommended Nerds!”. Sound good with you Rob??
You may live to regret the day you first informed me of your “nerdish” abilities, I can tell you…
Cheers!
Joseph
hahaha, yeah as someone struggling to make a little money at this the thought of having a top spot on google and not having the links working definitely made me cringe!
Recommended Nerds it is
sign me up!
Rob @ Portable Digital Recorders recently posted..The Best Zoom H4n Review
I’ll do that then Rob, and as I know Tia does not want the business regards to advertising her nerdish abilities (she earns a fortune from being a nerd!), you will have the covetted top spot and you do not have to share it with anyone – not for now anyhow (if someone offers me a fat pay check then I may have to reconsider
).
I’ll be sure to mention your high end ability in my next post on the blog!
Regards
Joseph
Hi mate,
Congrates! Your efforts have been rewarded. I am sorry that I have kinda MIA for the last three weeks. Now back and will pick up from where I left while following you.
Keep up the good work and I will be cheering you on mate!
Regards,
Terence
Hi Terence, yes seems to be looking good for many serp results in Goog, but not in all. Hey ho…
Sure hope to catch up with you T as its been quite a while! Nice to see you around and about once again…
TC!
Jo
If you really don’t want to keep the site I will take it. Seriously.
I bought your ebook the other day, and I have a couple questions regarding picking keywords.
If you are planning on ranking in 40 days do you usually pick keywords with very little competition like the twilight keywords? I notice most of the other pages in the top 10 are PR0-PR1
Also how much money do you usually expect to make from ranking for a keyword with 50k searches, or is it too random to tell?
Thanks.
Hi Josh, thanks for coming by and commenting! And for the eBook purchase too!
For now I will hold the posterz site Josh, but thanks for your offer. Its poised nicely for Christmas sales and does not need much effort to keep it where it is in the rankings.
For the 40 Day Challenge I had to pick out something that was “obtainable” within the time limits, thus it would have to be a niche that is not too competitive – at least not totally dominated by Google PR 5′s or something. Having said that, its not generally too tough to get in among the top 10 when they all have PR’s of higher than 3, so I don’t let that put me off too much.
The amount of money you can expect to make is dependent upon a number of factors. And its not as simple as using the equation I suggested a couple of times within the eBook. That equation is a good AdSense guide however, so well worth considering its use. But when it comes down to it, you may end up ranking for something that has taken you months to rank for, only to find that you still do not achieve many clicks or many sales. Its tough, but it happens, and it happens relatively often too.
From that point of view, I tend to go for easier-to-achieve keyword phrases (albeit of recent I’ve been going for more difficult ones – depends on my frame of mind) so as to avoid the sheer disappointment of ranking for something which has taken weeks of effort, only to find the income is paltry. If I can get top spot within 3 weeks with not much in the way of effort, even to see an income of $30 a month from that, its probably time well spent if you figure that income on a yearly basis.
Its somewhat unpredictable is this internet marketing stuff, Josh.
Thanks again!
Regards
Joseph
I have been waiting for an update about this site! Looking good, if you had asked for help I could have sorted the links for you in no time at all! You should get them sorted as the new twilight has already come out! I went to see it at the drive in with my girl friend, it was good. Also there will be a 4th and i believe final twilight coming out. If I were you I would definitely hold onto it if I were you, at least tell after xmas then flip it, no need to let it fade away when someone will pay you for the site! I need to start doing some work I have not even posted on my own blog in a few weeks lol! Good luck with it, I hope you make some cash off it!
Matthew Gannon
Hey Matt, where you been over the past week or 2? Ah yes, playing games on FaceBook. I knew you were busy so I decided not to interrupt your “focus”
You are quite right though, there is a lot of life left with regards to Twilight Saga, and to hold onto the site until Christmas and beyond is a sensible plan. I’m not much one for flipping sites, so that’s probably never gonna happen anyhow. We’ll see how it goes but first things first – I need to fix up the links. I’ll go back to eBay I think, simply because I know how those links work. Its just a matter of focusing in on the doing part.
Regards!
Jo
Heh damn facebook games haha! You missing me around here haha! I came back and read all the posts you have made that I missed though!
Matt, I’ve been so busy following your progress on FaceBook that I’ve had no time to consider your lack of presence over here!
Gotta hand it to you re this comment you made to your sister(?) – Robin Gannon…
Matthew Gannon said…
“working hard? or hardly working? lol”
Hehe, that made me chuckle rather heartily, so it did!
Oh yeah Robin is my mother, but the picture that I commented on was of my sister Tiffany. I need to go grind out some blog posts, I should do like 30 and then just set them all to post one a day.
Matt Gannon recently posted..Quality in Internet Marketing is getting more and more importiant-
Welcome back to the daily grind then Matt! Grinding it on Facebook is a lot of fun but its not gonna help you line your pockets with gold. Even if you were to write up say, a couple of articles a day and then go back to FaceBook Fun, progress is made and its another step closer to the much covetted prize of internet wealth.
Happy slogging!
Regards to you and yours!
Congratulations on getting the top rank for your keyword. All of your hard work payed off. Have you gotten the links working yet?
Yes Bidet, my mate Rob got them working for me. I sent him the javascript and he popped in the links. As for sales – let’s take a peak at yesterday’s – I’ll bet its rubbish.
Yup, just as I suspected. 50 click through’s which is very good – if you were to imagine that – I don’t know – perhaps 20% of people actually click thru from the website to eBay. So that’s a good total. How many buyers?? 1! Abolute rubbish, really! That’s about 10 cents!
So this suggests to me that I should halt any backlinking that I’ve been doing and let the site slip a bit. But, come October I’ve got to be ready for hitting it again and taking advantage of Christmas sales. That’s when it will all happen!
