My Recent Joint Ventures – How are they Faring?

Just before I get fully going with the new project challenge of trying to rank various higher end kwds in Google with speed and without getting dumped or having the site de-indexed entirely, I thought I would provide something of an update on those joint ventures that I asked people to apply for if they were interested in working with me and making some money together. You can see the original post here.

Well, unfortunately I’m not at liberty to name names of my partners, nor am I at liberty to disclose the actual niches we decided to go into. I can provide an over-all map of progress however, so here goes.

All of these particular joint ventures were started about 5 weeks ago (once we’d tied a few loose ends together), with exception of one of them. One was started about 8 weeks ago, if memory serves me correctly.

Of the 7 original jv’s, one has died a death, which is fine. The person who got involved initially obviously had a lot of other things going on, so there is not a problem with that when it does occur. Another jv was put on hold for almost 3 weeks so progress with that one is a bit slower.

As for rankings – I’ll assess that first.

An Internet Marketing Income of $4,600 per Month from Zero Within 7.5 Months!

1127282 golden money 4 An Internet Marketing Income of $4,600 per Month from Zero Within 7.5 Months!I would firstly like to say thanks to Sunil for the guest blog post about how to improve your website traffic using Google Images. A very educational and insightful post, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

There is much more to life than simply the making of large sums of money. Living life on your own terms is more important to many people, than earning a whopping income! Nevertheless, this short post is more focused on the income for the time being, rather than the lifestyle aspects of internet marketing, which is quite extra-ordinary in itself!

Today’s brief post is a quick update on progress with Chris – the young gentleman from Texas who is in fact at full time college studying religionthat would be the religion of making money online icon wink An Internet Marketing Income of $4,600 per Month from Zero Within 7.5 Months! .

You may know that at the end of last year, I teamed up with Chris to try to improve his internet marketing income, using SEO to increase profits. Well, that was not the difficult part, because up until December of last year, Chris was making very little – the occasional website sale and nothing much more than that.

Here we are just past mid August – some 7.5 months or so after we got together and started working on our challenge – I was going to coach Chris to take his income from close to zero, to over $4,000 a month, within a 12 month period. How are we faring?

Free SEO and Internet Marketing Training (?)

Further to our recent discussions about Kuching and setting up free SEO and IM classes, and further to Kevin in Australia and Chris in North America and also another potentially hot JV that could be coming along shortly (and without wishing to bore anyone who frequents my blog), its starting to make sense that this does not make sense. I’m trying to shove something down the throat of folks who are simply not interested. So maybe enough, already.
.
I take Ben’s point – he commented on one of my previous posts and discussed about the potential for setting up a site for resources online. And this idea is already becoming that much more plausible in my own mind, albeit – it does not allow me to work the offline world and I’ll perhaps be spending even more time online than I am already, if that were possible to do. Insanity looms!
.
But day after day, week after week I get emails from folks from around the globe asking for advice and seeking help. Sometimes – fairly often, those folks have read my recent blog posts and realize that I am intent on offering my own time to try and help folks to gain at least a foothold in making an income online.

Gaining Huge Motivation from Real Disappointment

Today’s post comes out of sheer frustration. Joint ventures just don’t seem to work for me!
Let’s briefly look at my own (abysmal) track record for getting joint ventures up and running.
.
.
Some months ago I set up a JV with a chap and spent about 6 or 7 weeks working SEO on his site in order to get it ranking a bit better for various keyword phrases – about 5 different ones in all. It was a profit share JV – I’d get a percentage of sales from his website. Well, to cut a longer story short, he disappeared and I did not earn a penny from that.
.
.
In the meantime I’ve made some tentative efforts to get other JV’s up and running, but fairly quickly its become obvious that nothing was going to come of any of this, so it was best to just let it be and not spend any more time trying to work on it and “push” it harder.
.
There was indeed one potential JV that we had just about kicking off, but unfortunately for me the website in question was partly sold off to some high end investor. End of potential partnership there then!
.
.
.
I’ve been talking excitedly in my posts on this blog for the past 3 months about another JV that was very much in the works. This one was in the health and fitness field and things were looking really good for a very long term and lucrative partnership.
.
In fact, I set up the first site for that particular JV about 3 months ago when we first kicked off with our project. Its ranking top 10 for a couple of keyword phrases I began targeting way back then, but had not been pushing too hard because I was waiting for an eBook to be written up by my business partner. I also had a real nice header graphic designed for it, so my own financial investment in this particular site – including SEO costs, would be a bit over $100 already. $100 – $150.

Progress with SEO and Rankings in Google

I recently read a comment from a chap in answer to a question he received on his SEO blog. The question was something along the lines of this…

how do you go about ranking for really tough keyword phrases and if you don’t manage to rank for it, do you just move onto something else?”

The answer from the blogger went along the lines of this…

read my blog and you will piece together how I go about ranking for tough keyword phrases, and oh, I ALWAYS rank for keyword phrases I go for!

I find that very inspiring actually, and I find myself thinking about this pretty much every day now. Its perhaps a bit odd because the blogger who said it and who is arguably one of the most expert SEO’ers in the game, is not and never will be my friend.

I chatted with him quite a few times about 20 months ago now because I came across one of his sites back then that was ranking very nicely for a very hotly contested keyword phrase. And to cut a long story short, I really dislike his attitude! However, I have to admit that he knows his stuff inside out and when he talks I listen. I never leave any comments on his blog so I’m a bit of a lurker, but credit where credit is due!

But I’ve got to give some of the credit for where I’m at in the world of SEO to him. On the other hand, he did advise me about something that when I put into practice it was a dead duck – building up a list on a website I’ve had now for a couple of years. Yup, the list grew fast because the site was getting pretty good traffic flow (thanks to Unique Article Wizard (links to my review) which I used solely to rank for a keyword phrase that according to Googie Google receives upwards of 150,000 searches per month globally!) and these folks are avid readers.

FACEBOOK – Here I Come!?

I read yesterday that both Facebook and Twitter make up by far the largest segment of social media online these days.

Following along in their heels are LinkedIn and then blogging. I think that most folks who twitter bird 300x300 FACEBOOK Here I Come!?want to learn about blogging do not have the time (or perhaps patience) to learn it. After all, there is so much more to learn about blogging and setting up a blog than there is to Tweeting all day long, right?

I’m gonna put an ad up – probably on the Warrior Forumfor someone to help out with my Facebook page. But its not gonna be the typical ad. I’m going to try out the WF Joint Ventures forum and see if I get any takers that way.
