List of FREE PRESS RELEASE Websites

Now cos I don’t want to make up my own list at the moment and also cos I don’t really like the idea of swiping someone else’s complete list (particularly when no credit is given for their hard work!) I’m just going to pop a link in here to a web page that has been put together by the journalist Dana Willhoit.

I’m not entirely sure when this list was last updated but I clicked a few of the link on the page over there and they all worked fine.

So without further ado, here is the link to Dana’s PR website list

Thank you!

Point To Point of Writing a Press Release (Who’s Yawning??)

This post about press release writing for the internet is continued from the previous 2 posts I wrote which can be found here…

2. Press releases for SEO

This is one of the few times so far that I have added content to the SEO Tips blog where I have had to refer to another web page for the information. No bad thing however – I need to pick up some tips about this press release game too, so thus I am being “forced” into doing so by writing out the “how-to press release writing”.

Mind you, I would happily shell out $20 for someone else to do a press release for me, and then another $15 to get someone to release it onto 20 relevant sites. That would be a bit risky perhaps if money is tight and its your first time of doing this stuff. So its why I am going to map out the main points.

This is not the be-all here. Its a quick run down of what can be included to make a press release or news release different to that of a normal article.

Why are Press Releases So HOT for SEO Purposes?

I said in my previous post earlier today that the subject of press releases bores the pants off me – or at least the idea of writing them, anyhow.

Nevertheless, let us not understimate a decent quality press release and what it can do for our own blog or website with regards to backlinks and SEO.

What do I mean by this?

You could argue the point that many FREE press release sites have relatively high Google PR and that in itself with provide a decent quality link. Add to that domain age, the amount of indexed pages under the domain name, and fairly often a high Alexa ranking to boot, and you got yourself a fair bit of “juice” coming back via your links within your press release article.

But no, there is more to it than this, and it is for this reason that I have to conclude that press releases are HOT!

Press Releases for SEO

Who else yawns when they hear the mention of doing a press release to boost your own SEO efforts? I have to admit that I do.

Creating a press release sounds like a laborious task because you have to adhere to certain rules to have the release accepted.

So its a bit like “don’t do this, don’t do that, but that is good…”. I suppose that is like life really, but when it comes to writing, I for one simply cannot write for long if I am constricted by rules and regulations. Its just not for me. I HAVE to allow the creative juices to flow, so press releases are too constrictive.

With that said, up till now I have gone no where near writing press releases in pursuit of backlinks for SEO. That was until just a few days ago.

I was reading around on various blogs and came across the concept of using press releases for SEO. Now okay, as mentioned this would usually have me yawning and moving to the next post, but I’m currently at the stage of doing more research with regards to getting quality backlinks but at a much more affordable cost than of recent.

If you have been reading along on my Warrior Forum thread recently then this may have you sniggering – you may have seen the recent “outbursts” regards to monthly fees for software products and services in the pursuit of obtaining quality backlinks.
