I been busy! What’s new?

Setting up the basis for a new blog/website, which although I fully intended to be focusing on a niche outwith internet marketing, lo and behold – its not – its fully IM focused. Awww shucks – this IM game has a total hold over me!

Cristina – whom you may know because she comments a lot on the blog here – she helped me out with the new site set up, which has a subscriber list optin box in the header graphic. Something that I surely cannot do since there’s quite a bit of hard coding in the css files required. Thanks Cristina!!

More about this website in the days to come though. I believe it will compliment the JosephArchibald.com blog rather nicely.

What else has been keeping me busy?

Facebook stuff – more about chatter with my Bulgarian friend (Yavor) who now lives in Kuala Lumpur, and with John Sia who is part owner of a number of businesses here in Kuching.

Its social chit chat and very much about having a laugh about life, but its interesting all the same. Almost as interesting as the Kardashian’s chit chat, but the difference being that they get paid a few hundred thousand greenbacks per social chit chat episode.

I added a few images to my FB page that I took at a culture show I went to the other evening here in Kuching (Basaga Hotel) which was really very good indeed!

My Twitter efforts have mellowed a bit, as I was intent on adding many more followers than I’ve managed. But the weekends are slow so that’s to be expected. At least I’m now over 500 followers – I never thought I’d see the day, LOL!

Also, believe it or not, but I’ve been buying a few info products.

There’s a good reason for this, and so far I’m very impressed with everything I’ve bought.

Seems you can really develop an eye for what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to IM related info product buying. Although my experience from a couple of weeks ago would beg to tell a different story

Making Money as an Amazon Affiliate

There’s nothing new about making money with Amazon as an associate, or affiliate. Amazon practically invented the concept of affiliation after all.

I first cut my own IM teeth on making money using Amazon.

My choice of niche was terribly poor, has to be said, and my monthly income generally was no higher than $100 even though I’d often spend 60+ hours a week on getting the rankings and doing whatever else I thought needed to be done. Oh yes – I’ve been there too!

Actually, the comments on this post are fascinating on their own!

Fact is, if you enjoy flipping websites, or you are considering getting into doing it fairly regularly, then Justin and Joe’s methods may well be right up your street.

Yes – has to be said, that economy of scale is very much on their side because they build around 130 to 170 sites a month. But they did not start out that way. They started out small and dreamed big.

But even if you are not dreaming big, you can very probably learn a good few things from how they go about making a very healthy income each month.

I’ve just opted in to their list in order to get their eBook about how they do what they do. No doubt a fascinating read! The opt in is a pop-up when you visit their website, in case you were wondering about that.

The main thing that comes to my mind is this. They sell scalable sites. Or in other words, folks trust what they do because their sites very often go on to make good profits once the new owner has made the purchase and spent time building the sites out.

$56,000 in 4 Months With Little Work – To Good to be True?

I’ve had a pretty horrible day today. Just one of those days whereby you lose almost all your focus and you feel like nothing is going right. Or – you feel nothing is going right so you lose all your focus. Yes, that’s better!

What’s more, I tried to make a video today and went over it 3 times and still did not get it right. Not a good idea to be making videos when you feel down in the dumps, is it?

Nevertheless, I persevered. For better or for worse…

But what’s more, I spent over 2 hours searching for content to write today’s post about. Normally I enjoy the searching part of my new blogging activities, but today it was more of a slog, a grind – than I’d like it to be.

But finally!

Finally, I found something that warrants our attention. And I’m excited by this information!

Now, that’s not to say there are few really good blog posts of recent. Not at all!

Its just that I want to focus on either the “make more money” type of information, or the “improve your quality of life” blog post.

Both are taken from a different angle. The latter not being dependent on the former. Whereas, the former is very much a part of the latter, or else why even bother in the first place? Getting me here??

I came across a mention of the blog I’m going to note as the source of this post thanks to Justin over at AdSenseFlippers.com Personally, I had no idea that this blog even existed, but as soon as I had a look at it, I knew it would become a source of information for me from now onwards.

Now the site has been added to my Google Alerts.

What Would You Do…? No Lurking on this Post – I Want to Hear from You!

In today’s blog post I want to put a scenario to you, then I want to ask you a couple of questions about how best to proceed. I know some people have far more experience of this than others, but please – all thoughts and ideas are more than welcome so don’t be afraid to put your own point of view across, will ya!

Okay – most of you know that I purchased a website back about 4 weeks ago. At the time I could see the potential for it, even though I know absolutely nowt/nada/nothing/nuffink about the subject matter. The gent who sold it to me is actually a very good “customer” of mine, so I most surely offered him what I thought was a very fair price for it, given the then current monthly income and the then current rankings in Goog of this particular website.

Fast forward some 4 weeks or so and we are in early December. As to be expected, Amazon sales are lucid – not flying off the shelves as of yet, but still decent enough to be pleasing.

Furthermore, the rankings for the site have improved nicely, and I’m now really focusing in on gaining a much stronger foothold in Google’s top echelons, whilst at the same time, taking it easy so as not to rock the apple cart and end up being dumped down. For that to happen in this case could be near to disaster, so I’m being very methodical in my backlinking strategies I can tell you!

There-in is the scenario, now the dilemma that I would courteously ask you for your input.

Okay ladies and gents, today’s post was going to be an update on procedings regards the current fast rankings in Google project, but I’ve got something other to share with you so the update will have to wait for now. Just briefly though – although my main kwd phrase is still not ranking top 100, a couple of the other kwds are ranking – one in 23 and one in 40 – according to Scroogle that is. So at least I know that not all the pages have been dumped by Goog, if any have.

But today’s post is to do with this – I’m going to share with you the process I use to buy a website and then to enhance it and sell it some way down the road – hopefully for a very tidy profit.

By no means is this the ideal scenario whereby you escape the clutches of Google (our god). In an ideal world we would want to escape the Google mood swings altogether. But this is next best because its about purchasing a website that has already gained a number of rankings in Google, then selling it at auction relatively quickly – meaning within about 4 months or so. If you can do this time and time again, its a really great way to add to the bottom line in terms of making a super income online!

I’m going to start off this post with a layout of my online expenses for November. I know a lot of internet marketers tell you how much they are making each month, but they do not tell you how much they are having to invest to see that level of income (particularly the big hitters who may make $30k per month or something huge like that, but you gotta wonder how much they are investing to see that income).

Here is a to-the-point break down of my own expenses for November.

November online expenses:

Outsourcing fees for November: $233

Hosting fees via Hostgator : $20

Domain name purchases: x 3 for $26.67

Software expenses: $258

Total November expenses (see also below for another expense not included here): $537.67 (£340)

Wowza! I’ve struggled along this month regards to online income – for the first half or longer it was very poor as far as eBay and AdSense are concerned, but in other respects – good. There were other things going on as I mentioned in previous posts. And these other things are going to have positive effects over the coming months and hopefully really boost up earnings for the next year! That’s what I’m hoping, anyhow.

And of course, a part of my investment/ expenses for this month and last will be towards this future income boost.
