Can I Enhance My Google Rankings Using Social Media Alone? (no standard backlinking allowed)

Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak LIKED THIS Can I Enhance My Google Rankings Using Social Media Alone? (no standard backlinking allowed)

I’ve decided to do a little experiment using my blog. That’s risky because I don’t want Google to shoot my blog down the rankings just because I’ve been playing around with some stuff that perhaps I ought not to be playing around with.

But hey, I’ve confidence that this will either work out fairly well, or no harm will come to my blog’s Google rankings. Did I say I’m confident…? icon smile Can I Enhance My Google Rankings Using Social Media Alone? (no standard backlinking allowed)

Okay, so here’s the deal.

Most of us are aware that Google like Likes. I mean, Google like not only Likes, but they also like Tweets, they like Stumbles, they like Diggs, and the list goes on and on. Now -a-days, these social factors are seen by the search engines as good reason to rank a webpage high in search.

I’m convinced that social media is a very strong factor now in terms of gaining Google rankings. It’s fairly obvious that it works and there have been various studies to prove that it does. Apart from that though, Google and Bing representatives have admitted as much. But then, there’s nothing new here.

So here’s the game I’m about to play.

Making Money With Facebook – Part 2 And Sources for Copyright Free Images

WATER 7 675x1024 Making Money With Facebook Part 2 And Sources for Copyright Free Images

I mentioned in my previous post – which you can see here  - that I’d be discussing setting up Facebook pages. Well, I kinda did that already, so no point going over old news now is there? icon smile Making Money With Facebook Part 2 And Sources for Copyright Free Images

Instead, in this post, I’ll be talking about the following issues…

- setting up a target website in tandem with your Facebook page/s and using redirects

- which is better – an ad campaign to get Likes or an ad campaign to make an income?

- where to get copyright free images for your Facebook campaigns

How To Monetize Your Facebook Activities

Facebook 1024x522 How To Monetize Your Facebook ActivitiesIts often been said within internet marketing circles that social media as a whole is a lame horse when it comes to generating an income.

You hear doom and gloom statements all the time -

they don’t buy anything

its a waste of my time even trying to monetize with Facebook

Twitter does not work – you can’t make money with Twitter

just go back to SEO and Google – Facebook traffic can’t be monetized“…

Honestly, I used to feel the same way, which is – in part – why I’ve focused so much time on Google SEO for years. I believed that folks who frequented sites such as Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon etc. were merely intent on catching up with world news or chit chatting about what they had for dinner or something.

SEO and Google still works of course. Things are constantly in flux with the Goog algorithms, but it still works and can work extremely well. But for me, its time to forge forth to fresh pastures and figure out new ways to venture on in the world of internet marketing.

And not only with regards to making money – I want to constantly strive to try to offer better value to my audience, just because it makes me feel good. I’m not so intent on vastly increasing the size of my bank balance. As long as I feel good with myself and my life, that’s all that matters.

Its still with selfish intent, so don’t be thinking I’m going all saintly on icon wink How To Monetize Your Facebook Activities

Before I move on, one thing to note – please only set up a single Facebook account. Don’t go setting up multiples because that’s contravention of their T’s & C’s and inevitably will lead to – at the very least – a number of account suspension.

In order to set up a new user account under your main FB account, do this (there’s possibly an easier way but this method works for me)…

- click the little downward pointing arrow next to the Home button in the top left navigation bar in your Facebook account (see image below – click the image to make it larger)

Twitter – FOLLOW ME – I Send Pointless Little Messages…

Twitter1 Twitter FOLLOW ME I Send Pointless Little Messages...Over the past few months I’ve been blog posting quite often – you may or may not have noticed.

However, at the moment I’ve embarked on some “big” projects – one is a joint venture, and the other is a go-it-alone job.

The go-it-alone project is more about testing out various social media channels to see how effective they actually are. After all, over the past 4 to 5 years that I’ve been involved in internet marketing, I’ve focused much more time on SEO and Google, and tried to escape from the social buzzy thing.

Times are changing however. Social buzzy is more important now than ever as far as the successful internet marketer is concerned. And not only that, I actually am enjoying working the social channels much more than I did before.

I’ve managed to implement a more systematic approach this time around, where before I was all over the place with it. That makes a whole lot of sense if you wish to constantly make some sort of progress with social media.

I mean, check out my Twitter numbers now – have a look near the top of the left hand side bar and you can see the number of followers I have via Twitter. Just about 3 months ago I had a few hundred followers. Now its a few thousand.

The Money is in the List – OR IS IT?

List Buiding The Money is in the List OR IS IT?

List Building

Here’s a turn up for the books – it is for me, anyhow! How often do you hear terms like “the money is in the list” and, “if you are not list building you are leaving money on the table” and, “if you don’t have a list your an idiot!“. Well okay, I made the last one up, but you get my point, I’m sure.

Would you believe that there is now a line of thought that goes something like this…

List building is fine, but using a Facebook page is BETTER!

OMG!

Did I write that right??

Did you read that right??

If you are shaking your head from side to side in an effort to dismiss this as UTTER NONSENSE, then here are some tell tale truths to back up the fact that using a Facebook page (linked to your blog, website – or not linked to anything at all) is actually BETTER than list building.

And after reading this you still don’t believe it – after all – its a “given” that list building is “the most powerful way to build an online business” – then don’t worry.

Go away and have a glass of something strong. Sit down for half an hour and relax. Put your feet up. And just consider this some more until the seed of reality is planted firmly within your mind.

Here’s the reasoning for the above statement…

1. Building and utilizing a Facebook page is free of charge regardless the size of your “fan” base

If you use Aweber, just for example, and you have over 10,000 subscribers on your list, then you will pay at least $149 per month for that service. Even the entry level Aweber account costs about $20 per month.

Working Together Online for a Far Brighter Future!

We’ve been discussing (I say “we”, merely because you guys and girls have been contributing so many of your own thoughts about this subject, so its not just about me mouthing off in a post with little to no comments in return) recenly a lot about social media, and how it can almost “drown” us in information over-load, but at the same time, once we can harness some of the sheer power of what it offers, we can actually thrive no end in our own pursuit of “internet glories”!

Not that I am an expert in that whatsoever, but its what I am more capable of visualizing than at any time previously.

-

I remember back at the very beginning of May, just as the Warrior Forum 40 Day Challenge was in its early days, that I was “hinting” to countless readers of that thread that I was a little jaded with pure SEO and would be focusing more on other ways to gain exposure for my own websites in the months to come, upon completion of the Challenge.

If you were not aware of just what I was implying then, you sure must be now!

If you have been reading along with the SEO tips blog (here) for the past couple of days or longer, then you will know that I have (finally) commmitted to venturing much more down the FaceBook and Twittering “pathways”. And it would appear (thanks to Sherryl!) that LinkedIn is now high on the agenda now too.

Already – even after only some 2 weeks or so, its been some journey! And I find myself not now thinking pure SEO every waking moment of almost every single day that passes. How odd! I’ve been SO focused on SEO and nothing else – solidly, for at least the past 2 and a half years.

-

Here is what I am finding however.

I sense that even though – as has rightly been discussed a thousand and one times before now, and generally speaking, the folks who frequent social media type sites are not the ones who are going to be helping our internet marketing businesses to grow and grow and grow – not in terms of making money purely from social media visitors to our blogs. Social media “traffic” has the reputation of being slow to dig out their purses or wallets icon smile Working Together Online for a Far Brighter Future!

But get this idea and chew it over, if you will please…

“Where visitors go, Google is sure to follow…”.
