Making Money Online SHOULD be Fun – Forget the Daily Slog!

More Money More Money 300x200 Making Money Online SHOULD be Fun Forget the Daily Slog!Yesterday I took the day off from “work”. Well, no, not really. I replied to emails and did stuff like that, but instead of writing some posts for my new “niche” Amazon site (the mini-behemoth in the making, which is in fact the work of a jv partnership, and currently stands at 37 pages of content after 2 weeks) and instead of drumming up a new post for my blog here, I decided to do some intense research instead.

So I cranked up my Goog AdWords Kwd Tool and zapped in around a hundred keyword phrases over the space of about 8 hours and studied some niches to try to get insights into “my” online world.

Why would I do that?

Well, the longer I’m purely focused on the “make money online” niche, the more I’m missing out on doing something different.

After all, folks such as your good self don’t come here to read about sheep shearing in New Zealand, or about life in Kuching, Malaysia. The latter being more appropriate to my current situation in life than the former.

Occasionally I”m sure its interesting to you to read about what I do here in Kuching, but in the main, your purpose for coming to my blog is most probably to read about my thoughts on the subject of money making online.

Even to this day, a very large chunk of my traffic comes from the Warrior Forum (via the 40 Days Warrior Forum thread), and a large chunk of my traffic also comes over from Pat’s backlinking strategy that works post. And there’s a sizeable chunk of traffic that’s recently been coming from the AdSenseFlippers guys blog too.

How to Make Money on eBay – Part 3

how to make money through eBay 300x124 How to Make Money on eBay Part 3Quick word on something topical at the moment – closure of AdSense accounts.

As many of you probably know, Spencer Haws of www.nichepursuits.com had all his AdSense accounts unceremoniously “dumped” by Google AdSense.

For what reason – well, that’s entirely open to speculation.

This is not the first time for a big player in the AdSense game to have all his (or her) accounts banned. Spencer was earning upwards of $15k a month on AdSense alone (that’s my presumption anyhow – I know he was earning a serious amount of money, but I’m not sure the exact amount).

I think it particularly important for anyone who is focused purely on AdSense income to rethink this strategy right now! (I’m certainly not implying that Spencer was solely focused on AdSense income – it was a large part of his portfolio).

Spread your eggs around – don’t rely on a single income source no matter how much you are making from it.

If you focus on one monetization method, you are asking for problems down the road way.

Do not take the risk!

How to Make Money on eBay – Part 2

ebay 2 How to Make Money on eBay Part 2On to part two of the How to Make Money on eBay adventure.

Part 1 can be found out here.

Part 3 is here.

Please keep in mind that I’m trying to ensure this information is very easy to understand for anyone – from the greenest of newbees – folks who are new to all this talk about Google rankings. Hence I’ll discuss things in plain English almost all the time and any SEO type terms I’ll try to explain as I go along if that’s necessary for further clarity.

This is the easy part. There’s no aspect to this whole kaboodle that’s difficult. Although it may be tricky to source a product or product line that you can sell at a profit. Once that’s been decided, its all pretty much plain saling, believe it or not.

Fact of the matter is, my intentions are to aim this guide at people who have already sourced their product, and who are already selling on eBay, and want many more people to see their offerings. But this information is for anyone who has a healthy interest in making money with eBay regardless you’re already a seller or not.

So, the question is, how do we achieve the increased traffic to our eBay store by going out-with the boundaries of eBay’s search traffic alone? (i.e. the folks who are already on eBay and use eBay’s search system to locate products they are interested in).

What we do is to put our trust in Google and try to achieve rankings for relevant keywords that pertain to what we are trying to sell.

Let’s take an example here.

Say we want to sell coffee tables.

We decide to focus in (or “niche-down”) on “lift top coffee table” which has 4,400 global search volume in Google each month, and 3,600 local to US search each month.

6 300x300 How to Make Money on eBay Part 1Initially I was going to make this information into an eBook and sell it (yeah, that there over on the left is my eBook cover – nice, isn’t it? But don’t click it because it goes no where. You’re getting this info for free – its only available to those people who read this series of posts, because you’re very special icon wink How to Make Money on eBay Part 1 ).

However, there’s so much good information similar to what I’m about to share with you (Steve Scot regularly discusses money making ideas similar to this one) that it makes sense to post this up on my blog and thereby make it freely available to everyone who cares to read it.

There’s far too much info here for a single post, so I’ll make it into a series of posts. Even if you have no intention of following through with these techniques, it still makes for an educational read, and the info here can be related to other techniques whereby you surely can make an impressive income if you so wish it.

The beauty of this technique is that its simple. So simple in fact that someone who is new to the SEO game and achieving Google rankings could gain success.

Could the technique I’m about to discuss with you have life-changing consequences?

Well, yes, I guess so.

Let’s move forward…

Breaking Away from the 9 to 5 Grind

Writing for a Career Breaking Away from the 9 to 5 GrindIf you are desperately keen to get away from the 9 to 5 grind and work online by establishing your own business, how can you actually go ahead and do it?

Its all very well to read something in the newspaper about someone making a million a year online from internet marketing.

Fact of the matter is, you’ll not make a million in your first year. You may in fact make nothing at all in your first year, no matter how hard you try.

Truth be told – you may never make much money as an internet marketer. Its much more difficult to make money online than “they” portray.

But this does not mean you can’t escape the drudgery of the 9 to 5 for something far better. Something “location independent” if you prefer that way of describing your ideal life scenario.

A life in the tropics, perhaps? Yup, I’ve managed to fulfil that “NEED” for myself. I have no regrets – my life in Malaysia is far better than my life was in the United Kingdom.Life in the Tropics Breaking Away from the 9 to 5 Grind

YouTube – Make Money – How?

Make Money with YouTube YouTube Make Money How?Phew, its a busy day!

Okay, to begin today’s post, I’d like to shove up the contents of an email I got yesterday.

No doubt a number of you have also read this same email, but many will not. I did Facebook Like it and Tweeted it too. By all means join me on Twitter and Facebook – check the info over in the sidebar to get my user credentials.

The email is totally pertinent, and I really like it a whole lot! Hope I don’t get sued on copyright issues…

Seth Godin wrote..

If your happiness is based on always getting a little more than you’ve got…

then you’ve handed control over your happiness to the gatekeepers, built a system that doesn’t scale and prevented yourself from the brave work that leads to a quantum leap.

The industrial system (and the marketing regime) adore the mindset of ‘a little bit more, please’, because it furthers their power. A slightly higher paycheck, a slightly more famous college, an incrementally better car–it’s easy to be seduced by this safe, stepwise progress, and if marketers and bosses can make you feel dissatisfied at every step along the way, even better for them.

Their rules, their increments, and you are always on a treadmill, unhappy today, imagining that the answer lies just over the next hill…

All the data shows us that the people on that hill are just as frustrated as the people on your hill. It demonstrates that the people at that college are just as envious as the people at this college. The never ending cycle (no surprise) never ends.

An alternative is to be happy wherever you are, with whatever you’ve got, but alway hungry for the thrill of creating art, of being missed if you’re gone and most of all, doing important work.

Ah, I could not have put that better myself!

Onwards!

Today, I’d like to talk a bit about using YouTube to make money.
