I’ll bet that heading has my good ol’ writing friend James from Elance – the Average Genius in a right tizzy. But in answer to James – I’d prefer to be a cheat than a slogger! Gone are the days of me sloggin’ it online for almost every hour God indulges me with! Michelle over on PassiveIncomeOnlineBlog – I see you giggling, no? icon wink A SERIOUSLY COOL Tool for Wannabe BACKLINKING Cheats

Let’s cut to the chase here, shall we?

-

Now and again you come across cool tools that can really make your life a lot easier. It must be said that in the world of SEO there are far more un-cool tools than there are cool ones (SEO Linkvine oddly enoughs pops to mind here).

However, just recently I came across one tool that if it did what it promised it would do then fan-bloody-tastic! Sorry for the out-burst. Let me explain a bit…

The product is called Link Juicer, and its gotten me in a bit of dizzy tizz, you could say. And here is what it says on the tin.

•Automatically marks your web pages, blogs or articles on 35,944 social bookmarking and content accounts

•Runs on autopilot

•Automatically spins and posts your content to thousands of content publishing accounts

•Randomly varies anchor text to ensure your links do not get flagged as spam

•Builds links gradually to maintain natural link velocity

•No limit to the number of urls you can link to

•Up to 1,500 links a month with a standard account

•Upgrade your account as your needs increase, and get 1000′s or even 10′s of 1000′s of backlinks monthly

•Converts your blog postings into executable (.exe) e-books and submits them to major software directories

-

Now I know Michelle is doing a bit of a study on this product (she thinks along similar lines to myself – why work your guts out every day if there is indeed an easier way?) and I know that a few others have already poo-pooed it, but here is my take on it.

The flippin’ thing works! How’s that then? The flippin’ tool works! And by-god does it free your time up to do other things.

Okay, let’s briefly talk cost here.

There is a free trial month, then it reverts to $47 a month for the basic account which allows for up to 50 links per day. Which is great, actually! Great value here! That’s going to be around 1500 links monthly.

-

Here is what I did. About 3 weeks ago I read a bit about it on a forum that I occasionally visit. Someone made a mention of this thing  called Link Juicer. I thought “hmmm never heard of that, best go take a lookie”.

Within about a week I read up, took on the free month trial (of course, after all, who would not?) and that, as I said, was about 2 weeks ago.

Now I’m not expecting great results within 2 weeks. In fact, I did not expect to see anything much, cos these sort of backlinks are notorious for taking time to get working. Its not like Blog Blueprint (links to my BB review) where you can see real live results literally within days.

However, I thought I would check one site in the rankings within Google, that I have set up for a mere 15 links a day.

The only links I have to that site up till now are for 2 keyword phrases (one is ranking top in Google and definitely gets me sales from eBay – in fact the visitor uniques have almost trebled due to this fact alone – the web page slumped while I was working on other things and not cherishing the site whatsoever), but I’ve set the Link Juicer up to tackle some other keyword phrases too – 6 in all. Spreading the links a bit thinly then, so I was not expecting much in the way of results just yet.

-

I’m simply going to take rankings from Scroogle rather than checking with other proxies too. But this will provide for a decent idea about rankings, I’m sure you agree.

-

Now, a little about the chosen keyword phrases as this will provide a bit of an idea as to the size of the competition for ranking in Google.

One of them has 110k exact searches a month – global – according to Google stats. Another has some 74k exacts a month. Another has 33k monthly. The other 3 vary between 3k and 12k monthly search volume on a global basis. Take those stats as you will – remember that they are not set in stone by any stretch of the imagination.

Now this item that the website sells is something that can fetch prices of up to $80k US dollars! I think the average sale is about $40k US. So the comp is extreme – an affiliate commission for such a sale on eBay is going to really charge up your account. Plus the search volume is high.

Mind you, most of the sales I’m seeing on my site are for add-ons, so sadly I’m not seeing much in the way of the high end sales. Hmmm, I guess that calls for a re-assessment of average per sale. Kinda dumb moment I had there then icon smile A SERIOUSLY COOL Tool for Wannabe BACKLINKING Cheats

Never mind, the site does fairly well – its one of my winners.

Thus its not going to be easy whatsoever to rank for this type of keyword selection. I thought I would try, anyhow.

-

This tool – Link Juiceronce you set it up you simply forget it. Now, how easy can life get, right? And all this for $47 a month. So, if the tool actually is as good as it suggests, then we my dear reader, are onto a huge winner!!

-

Let’s assess the results so far, shall we….

Sorry, I am unable to provide details of the site. I’ve done that before and find that some folks like to snipe my ideas (another form of cheating, but a rather more devious one!). So best I just refrain from providing too many details. Pity really, but that’s the way it has to be. The few spoil it for the rest of us.

Ok then, when I do my Scroogle rank check this is what I am seeing.

For the 110k search volume keyword phrase its ranking at 29th in Google within 2 weeks, and remember I have not provided any backlinks for this site other than for the 2 keyword phrases I mentioned previously – this not being one of those.

For the 74k search volume keyword phrase it is ranking 49th.

The one with 33k search volume is not ranking in the top 50 as yet.

-

For the other 3 keyword phrases one is ranking 1st in Google – as mentioned (but this one I did work previously upon, hence its ideal ranking – but its become so strong at the top that the previous holder of covetted top spot would have to go some to outrank me on that now!).

Next one is 8th, which I am very pleased about – I have also and recently been targeting this one with Blog Blueprint occasionally. Its been kinda tough getting it to break into the top 10 but now its there its on the rise regularly, which is so cool! I love it when this happens! And the final one is ranking at 39th (the 33k search volume phrase).

-

Now you may argue that these results are not too impressive. I would have to say otherwise. I’ve been using this tool for a mere 2 weeks, and furthermore that site is only getting 15 links a day from the Link Juicer. And the links are spread over 6 keyword phrases and not a couple. If it were only a couple of phrases then I suspect rankings would be so much higher.

And what are the rankings going to be in say – another couple of weeks? I can’t wait to see…

-

So, with all this said, and because I have a fairly large number of sites to rank for (including the client site, which I’ve been mentioning – I get 40 links daily for that one alone), I opted for taking on 2 accounts, which provides me with 100 backlinks daily, with no sloggin’ for it! (I’ve spread them over 4 different websites). So monthly cost for me is currently $86 US – once the free month is completed anyhow. (The first account costs $43 monthly if you take on more than the one account on expiry of the free period, and the second is a further $43 monthly).

Image by Denkbeeldenstorm Flickr 300x225 A SERIOUSLY COOL Tool for Wannabe BACKLINKING Cheats

Image by Denkbeeldenstorm, Flickrfree period, and the second is a further $43 monthly).

But, chances are pretty good that I’ll go for the larger package deal which offers 250 backlinks daily and costs $188 US per month. May seem a lot but if you can get ranking real high for even 3 or 4 keyword phrases you can easily make that and more every month.

I’ll wait until I start earning income from the rankings I see from the Link Juicer before I step up to that level.

If you want to get truly serious with this you can spend $2k US a month on 100 packs, which would provide 5k links a day! That’s for the full time SEO pros though – the SEO companies. You can always build up to that level by simply re-investing some of your earnings from this great tool. Food for thought, nothing more…

-

Life does not get much easier than when using tools like this! I can now write posts for my blog, go blog commenting on other bloggers blogs, try to join a network on LinkedIn (and get knocked back twice – informing me that my profile is not substantial enough!), or simply go and sit by the swimming pool with a glass or 2 of red wine, any or all of them whilst my SEO backlinking is being taken care of for me, and I am now seeing the benefits of it too. Hmmm, which one of those sounds more appealing for you to be doing? icon wink A SERIOUSLY COOL Tool for Wannabe BACKLINKING Cheats

-

I suggest if you are serious about SEO and making good money online, you take a serious look at the Link Juicer! Just try it free for a month and see if you are ranking for your chosen keyword phrases. I would bet that you will be!

Oh, and one more thing, I was a bit afraid that this tool was going to be clunky and difficult to set up. I have an innate fear of clunky and difficult tools, as you know. But this was almost a sinch. If you know how to spin your text by using something like the fantastic Best Spinner (links to the Best Spinner review) by Jon Leger, then there’s not much more to it!

Just be careful to get your anchor text links set up correctly. I only noticed yesterday that I had misspelled one of my domain names – thus all the links that I’d been sending out over the past week are some place in cyber space.

*

Don’t forget, you can join me on Twitter by adding my username josepharch. Its a fun place to be and we very often get great laughs on there!

Please leave me your comments regards to Link Juicer or anything else for that matter, thanks indeed!

Here is an update re Link Juicer and my own scenario. I mentioned earlier today that things are improving regards to the one website (see comments below). I have also mentioned that I have 5 sites up on LJ right now (or I think I mentioned that).

I checked them all within the past couple of hours, checking potential rankings too for my chosen keyword phrases. Not that I expect all of them to show – one has only 10 submissions per day. Two are only a week in age regards to backlinking set up.

One of my older submissions – those that are 2 weeks old now, is not showing at all in Google SERPS.

Now that had me a bit nervous. I’ve had that one going with 9 keyword phrases – hmmm… maybe its too watered down, so I changed that to 7. This site had 15 submissions per day set up for it.

But here’s the thing – I had my anchor text wrongly set up! Easy mistake to make here, actually, so watch out for it or you could be wasting money and time!

*

Incidentally, I just checked the site I have been discussing regards to Link Juicer in the Hide My Ass proxy. Oddly it has two of my keyword phrases showing in first and in second spot in Google. Way to go HMA proxy!!

Certainly there is some stuff going on here with regards to rankings because the stats in Analytics are showing 60% more visitors daily over that of a week ago! Not that the visitor count was huge, but I suspect the site will be looking at around 4k uniques over the month if all stayed the same as it is now regards to keyword phrase rankings (which it will not icon wink A SERIOUSLY COOL Tool for Wannabe BACKLINKING Cheats ).

Great review. It’s good to see actual data on how the sites are performing, something I haven’t compiled for The Link Juicer in any systematic manner. I do have to say that after using TLJ for a few months now, I’m seeing tons of links show up for my sites, and I’ve considered upgrading to a second account as well. Others differ, of course, but I think it will remain in my arsenal of backlinking tools for a while. Oh, and I think there may be a spinner integrated into the program pretty soon as well, which would make it even better!

Yup Michelle – you now know why I was taking a keen interest upon your findings with this LJ tool. You having had a lot more experience with it and all… And yeah, I remember reading Sara’s from Noteworthy Tips response regards (on your Passive Income blog) to the LJ tool. She does not see value in it much at all. Each to their own however, and I’m impressed enough here to shout out about the thing and the potential it has for doing the job and doing it very well indeed!

Thanks for the comment and for the Twitter re-tweetie! :-)

Reminds me that I should check our LinkJuicer account…. probably a ton additional links.

I have to say that we’re thinking of ditching LJ since we have SENuke and UAW. It just doesn’t seem useful if you create your own linkwheels. But it DOES work. It’s just a matter of figuring out which sets of tools work really well for you.

Great review.

Joseph July 16, 2010 at 3:24 am

Agreed Tia – find what tools work for you and stick with ‘em, at least for a bit.

Take SEO Linkvine for example. When most others were going on about it being a hot tool, I tried it out for a couple of weeks but it did not fit well with me. Just not ticking my boxes. Obviously James the Average Genius has now well and truly fallen out of love with it, but I have another online friend who swears by it to this day.

The main thing about the Link Juicer for me was two things – I was a bit suprised to see rankings in top 50 or 30 for my chosen keywords – after merely 2 weeks of 15 backlinks per day (give or take), and them being watered down to 6 different keywords for that one site, instead of say – targeting only 2 or 3 kwds.

And further, its so easy to set and forget that it makes SEO’ing a doddle, unlike SEnuker for example. I think that’s very much hands-on if I remember when I trialed it, and I’m the guy who would go all out with such a tool for a week and then get fed up with the amount of effort. I can just about handle Blog Blueprint on a daily basis, but any more effort than that and I suspect I’d be ditching the product fairly soon.

Cheers me Dear!

Yes, you did well in sucking me into the twitter-ated vortex – I had to see what the fuss was about.

I’ve a penchant for being a stubborn heel sometimes, but you’re gnawing on me like a Dam beaver.

(rimshot)

I’ve a mind to join you and Michelle there – you two are making my head spin with this easy link business.

BUT I’m still sold on mini linkwheels pre-selling big-ticket items. Will have to see how this goes with my article marketing.

What I want to see is when you Tweet that you sold an $80k thingamajig! That would leave my arms akimbo and jaw agape!

And other such phrases… :)

Great review, I’m now drooling, Joseph!

Wahahahahahaha!

I think one step at a time James. Its taken me quite some time to succumb to the “cheat sheet” style of workings. Ah, well, on second thoughts, maybe not… I’ve used auto-posting too, after all. Not to any great effect where Caffeinated Content was concerned, anyhow.

To date, that particular site is sitting quite a bit down on my eBay leaders table (regardless the recent rise in visitor numbers) at an income of around abouts $34 US. That’s 15 days worth of sales. So its fairly obvious to see that there’s a serious lack of big sales going on there and its gotta be the “add-ons” that are by far and away the main aspect to that selling tally. Its a glitzy glam sort of site, so there is no doubt that most folks merely come to oggle the images.

Nevertheless, I imagine the other sites I have under the LJ ‘wing’ are heading on up the Google rankers too. In fact, one other that I am targeting with LJ is currently showing at $55, so that’s not so bad for mid month – sales dropped over-all after the first 3 or 4 days into the month. Did you find that too?

I will be working further on witnessing the “arms akimbo and jaw agape”. Watch this (or that) space! :-)

Josh July 16, 2010 at 6:39 am

To put it simply…I want it.

I think I will use the entire trial period to boost up a hubpage or something. After that I can decide If I want it. Or rather, if I can afford it.

Joseph July 16, 2010 at 7:10 am

Hey Josh, to put it simply – me too!

I think what you are aiming to do is very wise. Trial it, see if it “fits” with you. Assess the results in a couple of weeks or so, and then again towards the end of the trial period.

The only reason I went ahead and grabbed the paid-up ‘second tier’ is that I have a lot of sites that are in need of SEO. And I know if I can get around to SEO’ing for them, then many of them are going to provide a worthy return (certainly enough to offset the $186 monthly fee for the 5 pack).

The confidence only really came to invest when I first chatted with Michelle about her view – she’s been using Link Juicer for a while, and next when I checked my rankings for that one site only yesterday. I can see value when I smell it, if you like. And this tool ticks my boxes cos its a “set and forget”!

Best wishes Josh!

Hey jo, my friend.
you have written a very insightful article about a really cool tool.
OMG, come to think about it, there are practically so many useful tools online and I am at the brink of deciding which one to opt in for.

So many things to do, so little ‘time’ ;)

However, post like this really helps me when it comes to deciding. As they always say, a good review is possible to convince one to take immediate action. But i am not saying i will be. However I will be sure to prioritize this. =)

i am still working on my blog post here and juggling intervals between reading up on other blog posts and comments… Guess i won’t be able to work myself out again tonight. Will be out. Besides is a Saturday night . I ought to go enjoy myself with my fellow mates. =)
hehe what about you?
have a great weekend.

Joseph July 17, 2010 at 2:31 am

That indeed – Febap Liew, is one of the problems of internet marketing. What tool to choose and which is best for your needs?

You hit one of the biggest nails on the head there however – “so many things to do and so little time”. That is one very good reason why I am a very strong proponent of this particular “cheat” tool. You set it and you forget it. Job done, pretty much! I’ve tired of sloggin’ away at article writing and I don’t particularly want to spend 4 or 5 hundred bucks a month on outsourcing for good quality articles.

In the case of this review – yes, I do say that taking immediate action is sensible and commiting to trying the tool. But only for the reason that the first month is entirely free. If it were not free, I would urge more consideration to be taken regards the investment.

I’m with you on going out for a “chill out”! I was out last night enjoying some good fresh veggie food. Tonight – providing there is no deluge, I’ll be out in a sampan and meandering down the Kuching river. Get some good eats over the other side too. One needs a regular break from their day to day affairs, after all. Hope you have a good one Febap!

Update here re ranking for the keyword that receives 110k searches global monthly (according to Google, that is).

Couple of days ago it was sitting 29th or so – in Scroogle Scraper. Today 19th.

The one that has 74k search vol which was ranking 49th (I think) is now at 22nd…

No other backlinking done by me on those 2 keywords. No hard slog by me on those keywords.

The one at 8th is now 6th…

The one at first is, well em, first…

Hmmmm…. you make up your own mind…..

Selena from Niche Blogging Diva July 17, 2010 at 2:50 pm

This is very interesting Joseph! I’ve been toying with the idea of adding a tool to my arsenal to help me out a little bit. I was thinking UAW, but on second thought I’d rather outsource that to James. ;)

LinkJuicer seems more interesting: more diversity and pretty much hands-off. I have also seen other bloggers writing positive reviews about it, so I’ll probably try it out on a couple of sites myself.

I’d love to read Michelle’s posts about it. Do you have a link — or is it in the post and I missed it? Sometimes the underline text confuses me (I think it’s a link and it’s not). lol

Hi Selena, I think Michelle was the first to comment on this post and because I have CommentLuv up and running you can see the link to her blog on there. Its a very informative blog she has, and well worth being proactive upon (I know you prefer not to be overly “proactive”on blogs, although I see you Twittering at the moment ;-) ) – she’s very knowlegable indeed and also loves to share!

James is the ultimate UAW’er pro! Thus there is no better professional than James the Average Genius to go to with regards to that! However, if you ask him to help you to “cheat” when it comes to backlinking, then currently he is very much sitting on the fence :-) (I emphasise “currently”!).

Actually, I’ve seen a couple of poor reviews re Link Juicer up till now. I have also read up on Michelle’s take on things regards to the LJ. She is more positive. Me? I’m not yet full on, but not too far off it either! I sense the value in this tool – I mean, its blatantly obvious with regards to the one site I’ve already mentioned – how much more blatant can it be!

Its no bad idea however to have a slightly maturer domain before you start using the LJ software tool. By that I mean that its a few months old or at least you have a good few links in place already. I think that way you will see faster results with it, but that is not a given. You could use this tool to go very gentle with links to begin and then boost them in the weeks and months to come. Its entirely your call. Read up on the literature and you will get your own “feel” for it.

All I can say is, “the flippin’ thing works!“.

I’ll get back over to your own blog soon Selena. My brain is switching down a bit so best I let it freshen up a bit before proceding.

Best wishes Niche Blogging Diva!

Bidet July 23, 2010 at 7:03 pm

Wow this looks like a great tool for getting backlinks and its pretty easy to use. Its crazy that within 2 weeks you were ranking for your selected keywords. Ill be sure to check it out. Thanks for giving such a detailed review.

Tom October 19, 2010 at 7:12 pm

So would you recomend LJ instead of UAW? How does it compare to traffice geyser?

Cheers

Tom

Joseph October 19, 2010 at 11:45 pm

Hi Tom, I’ve never used traffic geyser and nor will I. Videos are not my thing. Link Juicer I would use for a different purpose to Unique Article Wizard. LJ is more of a “starter pack” for when you want to hit a website hard in future to get it ranking. You can drip feed your LJ links over a period of time all on auto, which actually is ideal if you’ve got a few websites you want to hit hard. I would tend to use UAW as a tool to get me the actual ranking, once I’ve got a lot of links from the likes of LJ in place. That way I can hit my site hard with UAW and it will probably do well in Google because of it.

I did use UAW in a different way during the Warrior Forum challenge – hit my Web 2.0s and article directory submissions hard very early on with UAW. And only after a while did I then use UAW to start backlinking to the primary site. So you can use these tools in a variety of ways if truth be known.

Joseph

Thanks for your quick reply, I’m just about to start some proper SEO on my motorhome website, so have read through your challenge and ready to start! I got a bit carried away and bought a few domains as couldn’t work out which was best. I’ve decided on the keyword I want to focus on and bought an exact match .co domain. Any thoughts on .co? Anyway I’ve got these other domains that are good secondary keywords and wondered what’s the best way to link them all up in an efficient way. Should I just apply the same technique using the relevant keword for each site to all of them and then link them up? Maybe choose to use one as a blog and link that into my primary site?

Sorry for the long message, just trying to digest your ebook, currently reading it for a second time!

Link Juicer June 12, 2011 at 12:25 am

Hey it’s been a while since you wrote this post, are you still using The Link Juicer for your campaigns? I’ve been using it a few months and the results are awesome.

I went from nowhere to page 2 for one keyword, #5 to #3 first page for another keyword, and my other campaign is steadily creeping up Google rankings for a recurring income software.

In my opinion this one’s a keeper plus it’s paying for itself through affiliate commissions.

That’s really good to hear LJ! I used it for a couple of months and it had a very good effect on one of my domains, but for the others it did little apart from strengthen the domain for more backlinking. I guess it makes sense to let it run for longer than the 2 months – price wise its competitive to other tools on the market. I may consider getting it again actually, so thanks for the feedback about how its working so well for you!
